Baptisms & Thanksgivings

Arranging a service for your child in the parish of St John's.
When a child is born there is often a desire to give thanks to God for this gift of a new life.
We offer two services that give parents the opportunity to do that, a service of Thanksgiving which can be arranged at any Sunday 10:00am service, and a service of Baptism (Christening) which requires commitment to Christian discipleship.
If you would like to talk about any of these services we invite you to meet the minister and the Family Worker after the Baptism and Family Service. This service takes place on the first Sunday of each month at 10:00am. Please contact Lynn 0118 944 2734, or write to familyworker@stjohn-woodley.com
We also warmly invite you to come to any of our 10:00am services, and please, make yourself known to the minister, and see for yourself what goes on at St John's. Of course, you are welcome to come with your children; we have a special carpeted area with bouncy chairs for babies and toys for toddlers, & Junior Church for children of 3+ and young people during school term.
Please, note that we do carry out a good number of Baptisms and there is a waiting list of about 3 months between meeting the minister, taking the baptism preparation course and having a service for your child. For this reason, we are sorry we cannot give a firm date for your child's baptism. For your information, the baptism service takes place on the first Sunday of the month at 10:00am.
Therefore, if you would like to meet the minister and the Family Worker to talk about the baptism of your child please contact Lynn 0118 944 2734. Thank you.
